Almost time for some Duck Hunting in Uruguay

April 27, 2009

One week before the beginning of the Uruguay and Argentina duck hunting season.  Los Gauchos is geared up and ready for another good season.  While the economy continues to leave us all unsure, one thing is for sure.  Duck hunting is good in Uruguay and Argentina.  Travel to South America could not be better with airfares dropping and the dollar strong in Buenos Aires and Uruguay.

Los Gauchos newest destination in Colonia looks to be a popular one.  Flying to Buenos Aires, enjoying a great steak dinner with outstanding malbac or wine from the Mendoza area and then taking the fast ferry (50 mins) to Colonia, Uruguay for high volume dove hunting and Perdiz hunting.  For those that question "hunting"--remember doves are in such high numbers in Colonia and the doves are damaging to the fields and crops in Uruguay.  Enjoy Colonia with its European style and cobblestone paved streets in addition to the high volume dove hunting and upland Perdiz hunting.

Los Gauchos has a lot of new things in the works and we look forward to keeping you up to date about fishing and hunting in South America (and Mexico and Bolivia).

Happy Birthday to the Los Gauchos Gal in Houston---
