Today Los Gauchos Outfitters sits down (we don't do that often..) to give thanks to all the Veterans who serve this country.

Los Gauchos Outfitters is honored to have had many veterans as guests of ours in Argentina and Uruguay. We enjoy having the privilege to have them come down and enjoy a wing shooting, waterfowl or angling experience that many have on their list of hobbies.

While our list is vast of the veterans we have had down to Uruguay and Argentina, this past season Los Gauchos Outfitters was honored to have: General James Daniel, Major James Kopp, Petty Office 1st Class Marcus Luttrell as guests for the 2009 season in Uruguay.

While these men are just a few of the thousands of men and women that serve our country, the stories and admiration for veterans is beyond words. As having had the honor to sit and talk after a great duck hunt or dove hunt in Argentina and Uruguay with several Los Gauchos clients that served in the military, I sleep better at night and realize what a great country we have and how much we all need to not only thank veterans on November 11th, but everyday for the service they provide or have provided.

So great to have Halloween on a Saturday for all the young wingshooters and waterfowlers to take a break after hunting and go and get some treats.

Saturday is also the day for U.T. Longhorn football. Great story about Jordan Shipley, who loves hunting and also singing. An outstanding country musician who has just released a track that is sure to hit the music scene of Austin AFTER he shows off his football talents, which he has done week after week. Jordan Shipley and fellow friend and player Colt McCoy are also avid wingshooters and anglers.

This Uruguay hunting blog is focused on Los Gauchos Outfitters and hunting so yes, we will tie in hunting to this "plug" about the U.T. football players. Jordan Shipley and quarterback Colt McCoy are active during hunting season. They also enjoy the sport of fishing and Uruguay is a perfect destination with hunting season May-August and fishing available anytime. In fact there is a fantastic video showing the U.T. Longhorn players on a bass fishing boat and just throwing a pass like they do week after week for the winning U.T. Longhorns.

Well, today is a Saturday and yes, Los Gauchos Outfitters is open. Remember we are duck hunters and Saturday is another good day for duck hunting. We are in the office though today since the Uruguay and Argentina duck hunting season is over and the U.S. duck hunting season has not yet opened. Soooo, we prep for the duck hunting seasons and watch some good U.T. football.

Uh oh, we hope. While sometimes U.T. does not play like they should or do they have a good day on the football field, Los Gauchos Uruguay duck hunting has a great record and I think we are the National Champions for Uruguay Duck Hunting. No question.
